About Us
Person-Centered Behavioral Homes is a local organization started by a registered nurse with over 25 years of healthcare experience; by using personal experiences with homelessness, anxiety, and depression, Shakirah Wilson, BSN, RN, CCM, decided to take action and refocus her nursing career to service the mental health population.
PCBH Homes provides services that assist people suffering from mental health instability and home insecurity to secure safe and consistent housing and mental health services to regain the skills and resources needed to live productive and meaningful lives despite their circumstances.
PCBH takes a person-centered approach when initiating individualized service and treatment plans to include the client's values and cultural perspectives. PCBH's goal is to embrace clients for who they are and meet them at their level of readiness to implement the changes they feel add value to their lives.
Equine Assisted Psychotherapy
PCBH takes an extra step to ensure our clients receive the highest forms of therapy and diverse life experiences. Equine Assisted Psychotherapy is mental health therapy that features interactions with horses in group and individual sessions facilitated by a licensed mental health counselor and equine specialist. The service focuses on clients working with horses to achieve goals like traditional psychotherapy.
